In order to connect Skype on Mixxx software you require a software add-on called Virtual Audio Cable. (the virtual audio cable is a licensed software and can be purchased from here) After you have downloaded and installed Virtual Audio Cable open its control panel, and ssnipelect from the Driver Parameters section located in the upper left side of the window: Cables - 2, and click on set.

Next, open 3 instances of the AudioRepeater(MME) application which we will setup to take the sound from Skype and push it to your broadcast. Set one instance to: Wave in -> Line 1(Virtual Audio Cable) and Wave out -> Line 2(Virtual Audio Cable)

Set the second one to: Wave in -> Line 1(Virtual Audio Cable) and Wave out -> Speakers

Set the third one to: Wave in -> Line in and Wave in -> Line 2(Virtual Audio Cable)

Click start on all of them and open Mixxx.

In the Mixxx software go to Options -> Preferences and from the Sound Hardware section select Output Master -> Speaker, then in the Input section select Vinyl Control 1 -> Line 2(Virtual Audio Cable) and click on Apply.

Now we will configure Skype to run on our setup.Click on the Call tab and go to Audio Settings, from there select Speakers to Line 1(Virtual Audio Cable) and click Save.

Your Mixxx encoder can now take in live skype calls over the broadcast without losing any regular streaming functionality. If you do not want your calls to be over the broadcasted content, you can simply pause the current song, or turn the volume down from mixxxx.
