FAQ
Answers to the most common questions broadcasters ask before moving their station onto Primcast cloud radio automation.
Which audio file formats does the platform support?
You can upload audio in MP3, AAC, OGG, WAV, and FLAC. Tracks of different formats and bitrates can live side by side in the same playlist - we handle the playback without any manual conversion on your end.
How far in advance can I plan my programming?
There is no limit. Use the built-in calendar to map out shows day by day, week by week, or month by month, color-coded by DJ or program. Recurring shows repeat on the weekdays you choose, ending on a set date or running indefinitely.
What happens if a live DJ drops the connection mid-show?
Scheduled Play takes over the moment a Show Source or Master Source goes silent, keeping the station on air. When the DJ reconnects, the live feed resumes automatically with no manual intervention needed.
Can my station stream to several servers at once?
Yes. Push your stream to as many as three streaming servers in parallel - perfect for expanding your reach across multiple platforms or keeping a hot backup on standby.
Does my computer need to stay online for the station to keep broadcasting?
No. The platform lives in the cloud and runs your scheduled programming 24/7 from our servers. You only need to log in when uploading tracks, tweaking playlists, or jumping on with a live DJ.
